Android users Tip-O-The-Day:

If you wish to revoke specific application folder access but don't want to go through all the rigmarole of doing it within an app's settings, or...,
you just want to get rid of rarely used clutter on the UI, but not the content itself...,
then simply rename the folder with a prefixing period.

Did an interesting straw poll amongst my friends and I found iphones were much more common amongst females than males.

When I asked the ladies why they preferred iphones, general reply was simply "I like them - they just work".

Another key factor seemed to be that they all had zillions of photos including a zillion selfies.

When I asked men why they prefer androids, main response was much cheaper, and more flexible.

The responses felt like the conversations I had when trying to buy a car. I saw a super Mazda at nice price. Sleek, great acceleration etc. My wife hated it - no room for large shopping, but main reason was it was red!

I am not trying to be genderist but there is no doubt in my mind that gender does influence the type of phone a person has.

I've been trying out a new Samsung S24, and i'm not happy with the picture quality. Compared to my A52 the S24 produces baked yellowish pictures, more like oil paintings. Think i'll return it next week and stick with my 52 for now.

Iphone SE3. Mainly because it's the smallest phone available (I think) and doesn't have an oled screen. In fact I think it's about the only one without an Oled screen now - maybe one other Android phone that's larger.

I think people stick with what they've had before sometimes - familiarity. We previously had the 1st gen IPhone SE's (which were very small). Both partner and I. Probably wanted small because we came from Nokia's to the iphone se 1st gen

Which was cheap at the time also. He wanted something that would fit in his top zip pocket in an Otterbox case as works outdoors. So maybe not always gender specific. Although partly so as I have small hands! So I prefer smaller phones.

The iphones are simple to use and he is a technophobe!

My issue is going to be when the iphone se 3rd gen stops being supported. No more phones with lcd screens (ie pwm-free). And no more smaller phones.

The teenager likes larger phones - has had both samsung and iphone but currently has an iphone 14. He's happy with either but going through a street cred phase I think. It had something he wanted but can't remember what.

My A52 still takes better pics than my A54 and A35!

I think that was MS fault for not properly investing the time and effort in them to get a decent share of the app market.

Do you have a screen protector? If so, that's probably why.

I have never used screen protectors on any of my phones cause they tend dull colors or add color casts when viewing from the phone.
