What phones does everyone use?

Do you have a screen protector? If so, that's probably why.

I have never used screen protectors on any of my phones cause they tend dull colors or add color casts when viewing from the phone.
No, it's the post processing in the phone. There are a lot of other people complaining about it online, forums, reddit, even Samsung.com.

Loads of old phones kicking about this house! In various drawers and cupboards. A couple of Nokia 3G's a couple of Nokia 100's, a couple of Iphone SE 1st gen 4" phones. Might even still have my siemens rubberised phone with a black and white screen (I loved that one - it was like a small rubber brick and virtually unbreakable).

3G phones are no use in UK as it is switched off.

I gave an elderly friend (relative to me ha ha) an old Nokia phone (not smartphone) which was one of first 4G phones. It is small enough to fit in her small handbag (which still fits a far larger volume of stuff than the size of the bag - Totally Amazing Reusable Dimensions In Specification).

The battery life is like a couple of weeks if hardly used. About all it can be used for is to make calls, play fm radio and text (who remembers predictive text - it took me hours to do a two line text LOL).

However as an emergency device, these old devices are still handy.

Snap - A23 5G (Android 14), M23 5G (Android 14), A32 5G (Android 13}

None of the above will get OS updated but still get security updates. The A32 will not connect to my hearing aids wothout an intermediate streamer (not ASHA compatible).

S22+ (Android 15 after flashing it myself - not as creepy as it sounds lol).

Yep 3G phones are pretty useless - bin them? Or is there something they can be adapted into?! I hate throwing things away lol. Am a terrible hoarder. So would they not even work for phone calls now? Yes we have a couple of those nokias - useful for emergencies. Like when we had a four day power cut.

I just googled it - apparently they could be repurposed as a computer webcam or a mouse? 🤣

In UK, 2G will be defunct by 2033 but remote rural areas that still do not have 4G or 5G will retain 2G for emergency calls. So one could leave an old 3G phone in car to call emergency services as a backup.

Otherwise, they make retro style paperweights lol.

Mine shows 3G quite often.
Vodafone, EE and 3 have all turned off 3G as far as I know. O2 intend to complete switchoff by end of 2025.

I guess you are using O2 or a provider piggbacking of O2 network?
