Where are my digital licenses coming from?

This is a silly question, but I am stumped. I have an personal Microsoft 365 subscription. I have 3 devices licensed for Windows - 2 for 11, 1 for 10 (older laptop).

I just created a VM in Parallels, and after logging into my Microsoft account, I rebooted, and I have an activated Windows 10 Pro license that shows up as a device in my account page when I log into Microsoft's account site - I now have 4 licensed Windows devices. Where is that license coming from, and how many do I have? I checked, as far as I can tell no Windows licenses come with Microsoft 365....I don't think I pay anything other than Microsoft 365.

Thanks for the help! I am stumped!

Thanks @johnlgalt that was a good article but it didn't say anything about limitations on the number of digital licenses, how to get more, etc. It seems to imply they are unlimited.

With as many links as were in there, and with all the various links that those links lead to, I assumed there would be an answer somewhere.

I do recall, however, that at least one user ran into a limit of 10 total activations allowed before they ran into an issue.
