Solved Which is your preferred password manager

I have deleted my LastPass account, vault etc. Bitwarden seems OK so far, but there is a lot to learn.

I did export my LP vault but then had to encrypt it because the only format is .csv. Bitwarden at least offers a secure export!

Friend of mine swears by keeper, i'm running a trial of it now checking it out.

For what they want to charge you a month you can get 3 years + with Bitwarden with the same security

Not saying they aren't good but they don't need to be greedy either.

Yeah, lastpass has been $48 a year for me as a family, looks like Keeper is $75 a year and Bitwarden is $40.

$40 a year for family, single users are $10 a year. Don't know how many are in your family but if it's less than 4 convert those accounts to single users you can get it for less than $40

If you need to share things like a joint bank account login, is that only possible with the $40 family plan? Anyone using the Bitwarden Family Plan with an authoritative reply?

After all these years, LastPass has lost my trust. I've decided to switch to Bitwarden.

My wife and I share a single free Bitwarden account. It makes navigating password protected sites so easy.

For $10, you can share a vault with one other person, each having their own logins.

Kate and I each have many dozens of sites that are of interest only to the individual who registered for the site. We wouldn't want all of our sites comingled together in one huge mass. I have over 170 registered sites and she has almost that many. For example, I have no interest in sewing and dress making and she has no interest in computer programming.

The poll only allows 10 options, so I would have lost one to accommodate you. "Other" is not interesting.

I've tried many password managers, as you probably all have.
But the thing that I value the most is the control over where my password vault is stored.
Yes, there are many that store them offline, which is reassuring.

You did not offend. You are not the first to ask. With hindsight, I would have picked different programs. I took my list from a review in PC Magazine as I thought they would have chosen the ten most popular programs.

Some polls show "View Results" even if you didn't vote.
Maybe that is something the forum can implement in the future.

I use Edge, but voted Bitwarden, because that is the only one I would be willing to use again.
The extension has a protected autofill, it can autofill per domain, use PIN and clean clipboard.
