why do i need these in startup?

Reflect UI watcher
TWUIDSLauncher.exe
Softwarenotificationapp (Brother)
Status Monitor Application (Brother)

Why do I need any of these (perhaps last 2 but won't they kick on when I access my Brother printer?)

You can probably disable all of them. In the end, just try it.

The brother apps are for the taskbar notification area status monitor and update checks, I have a brother HL1110 (laser) and it doesn't need these to start with Windows or at all really, the status app can be run on demand if wanted.
The only one you may want is Reflect UI Watcher for Macrium, I think it is for update notifications and maybe (needs confirmation) for scheduled backup runs, but even that can be manually started if needed.
The Edge one can be better disabled from within Edge's settings page, it basically pre loads parts of the browser for quicker loading.
Chrome one performs the same purpose as the Edge one, I think.
TWUIDSLauncher.exe, no idea, scanner app maybe, quick google will ID it I'm sure.
Pretty much as cereberus said though, you probably do not need any of them auto starting with Windows.

When you enter a room you can have the light switch turn on all lights and electrical appliances or you can turn on one at at time as needed.

For a computer everything can be turned off at startup except certain services.

All non-Microsoft services can be removed from startup.

This is the same as clean boot:

When you want to use a service it may take seconds to start instead of have it immediately available.

Reflect UI watcher is only necessary if Reflect is running using a different user account to the currently logged on user
