I have a feeling that once Windows 11 is close to being as perfect as we want, MS will release the next version and start all over again. ;-)

In my opinion and regard, 24H2 does have a lot of issues, and a lot of the "new features" seem to be often "hurried", and not exactly well thought out and implemented

So how effective are the Previews? ISTM reading where MS fired its test group. In my career in software product management, a good test or QA group is absolutely essential to customer satisfaction and retention.
An example of this is when explorer refuses to open, or when it does, navigation sometimes is impossible as it freezes constantly and consistently. It is also slow to open and as of late is slow to close. This issue, has been going on for months now with no resolve - worked pretty good with 23H2 by the way (fast and responsive). However, with each new update it is claimed something is fixed, and whether it may or may not be fully implemented, something else is broken

Instead, they just want their product "Windows 11" and "features" enforced and bestowed upon the user. Many suggestions were out there for years, and they know that, they read them. But do they work on what actual real life people want?
For corporate users, a high degree of standardization is important for both support and security reasons. But home users? Has MS forgotten that the "P" in PC stands for "personal?"
With each new update or new features added, they typically break the functioning of these mods - some are purposeful and some aren't. A classic example of this is explorer patcher. MS literally hates explorer patcher. For those that don't know, do a simple search with your preferred search engine, too much to explain why on the front. However, when you can get it to work fully for you, installing mods, finding workarounds, authoring customized code, 24H2 can really work for you and can be quite impressive. 24H2 by itself (along with Windows 11), in my opinion, is garbage.
OK after reading this thread and searching more on this issue, I have decided to remain with 2H23 which is partially installed on two of my systems, and install it from scratch on my desktop daily driver. See my post #23 in this thread.

I hope that between now and November, either MS or third party folks will sand down more of the rough edges.

Some people use a 3rd party AV and they load all kinds of crap onto their PC,

Please don't generalize. I have worked for three different AV companies, and the quality of their software varied.
and/or they use the wrong tweaks or they use the right tweaks but they use them wrong, and then they wonder why their PC never does what they want. I am heavily inclined to believe that the vast majority of "24H2 problems" factually are caused by Refusing (with a capital letter 'R') to learn the basics of how to operate and maintain a Windows PC and do it properly.
Do you really think your statement applies to the people in this forum? I don't.
I am sure that everyone will agree that only macs are immune to virus!

No longer true. "Security through obscurity" used to work for Macs but no longer.

And Android phones are targeted with lots and lots and lots of malware.
Always. Another thing is that Canadians are very polite.
True. And they don't deserve what is happening to them now.

@x509 I appreciate all of your replies and responses ( not only to my posts, but others as well). They are very well thought out, fair, and balanced. Very well written as well if I may add - with all responses bringing good points to the conversations in this post and understanding where each of us are coming from. We all have different configurations, as well as outcomes with updates. That's what keeps forums like this alive, and very much helpful as such. I appreciate everybody here actually - as I've mentioned in my other previous post(s). Just a flat out pleasant community.

I wasn't trying to generalize at all. Instead, I wrote: "Not that all problems are caused by 3rd party AV. Far from it actually, but I know that a lot of them still are."
Do you really think your statemnet applies to the people in this forum? I don't.
To some certain degree, yes of course. I think it should be pretty trivial the fact that not everyone on this forum has been spending that much time looking for customizations/tweaks trying to figure out what works versus what doesn't work when it comes to that particular part of the equation.
No longer true. "Security through obscurity" used to work for Macs but no longer.
I was only joking.
And Android phones are targeted with lots and lots and lots of malware.
I know.
True. And they don't deserve what is happening to them now.
