Solved Why is x86 Distributable Failing???


The previous installations looks damaged. Uninstall it and!! Use a program that cleans the registry for orphan entry's (important!!!) Install the newest version next. Like; https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe. It's the latest. Before installing it use sfc /scannow and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth in an admin powershell to make sure that nothing is damaged. You need a healthy Windows for this in order to prevent further problems.

Did you run the installers as Administrator? My Focusrite drivers wouldn't install unless I did that.

Yes I did! And whenever something doesn't go well, thats the first thing I try after! Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you tried using the latest Melodics with the latest Focusrite 3.25 on Windows 11? According to Melodics support, they said some people with Focusrite were writing in with issues.

Thank you everyone who assisted me.
So.... the SOLUTION to the x86 14.44.35211 that refused to install due to its inability to find the resource it needed was to use the Microsoft Troubleshooter found here. Another user reported the issue here and that's how I found something that finally worked.

Once I confirmed that the file showed under the installed Programs, I tested Melodics.
Melodics launched properly and was working.
I then installed the Focusrite drivers - no errors when installing (due to fixed x86 file as described above).
Restarted PC.
Melodics no longer working - not even showing up in Task Manager.. but I did hear back from Melodics support.
Workaround for THAT is to disconnect the Focusrite audio interface - launch Melodics - select a different driver. Quit. Reconnect Focusrite and launch Melodics again. Should be able to select the proper ASIO driver now with no crash.

Anyway. the issue with not being able to install the missing x86 file that I originally posted here is now SOLVED.
