Solved Wifi button is missing on my mom's laptop, even factory resetting doesn't help at all.

Another option is to connect to the router using a cable for now. At least so you get the computer setup and activated...then you can start diagnosing the WiFi issue. But you can't do diagnostics easily while you're in Windows final setup stage.

I had another thought but failed to mention it, on Notebooks be sure to locate the switch or key combinations that can hardware toggle Off and On for the Wireless adapter, if Off it usually won't show in the OS.

The latest USB dongle I have is an EdiMax 600.

sadly when i press the F2 button in my vivobook it does nothing bc it's designed to work that way. but when i pressed it on my current acer laptop it worked.

But do check as some Notebooks will have different settings such as Fn + another F key. The 2-year-old Notebook I'm on now doesn't have such a thing but does have 2 F keys [F5 and F9] with no additional marking so no hardware switch.

Was this just a click of a button fix or does the problem still persist? If solved, then please mark the thread as solved and thank Berton for mentioning the hardware switch. I didn't remember almost all Asus laptops has this feature. :wink:

Not all notebooks have have the keys or a separate hardware switch to turn the WiFi on or off. On the Dell XPS 15 9570, it's Fn+Print Screen.
