Wifi disconnects and can't get it back

w11 home 22h2 - drivers all updated.

This laptop is set for the lid closed to do nothing. After 3 hours the screen shuts off but it is not supposed to go to sleep. I run 2 external monitors so the lid is closed almost all the time.

Occasionally when I come back to the laptop and log back in there is no internet. The world icon shows. Trying to activate the wifi by going into network does not work. It shows my BT connection but no wifi. When I go through settings to wifi settings it will be shut off and I can't turn it back on. All i can do is reboot which is kind of a pain for various reasons. Also, settings runs extremely slow when trying to get to anything related to networking.

Is there a way to restart the Wifi without rebooting? I really don't mind it shutting off occasionally because it's pretty rare.

Open a command prompt as admin and type powercfg -a Post a screenshot

Go to your OEM and make sure all your drivers are updated, including bios and graphics. You can do this manually but it is preferable to use Lenovo System Update for this purpose.

Chances are your device is entering modern standby.

If that doesn't work use hibernate.

A side observation : The idiosyncrasies of modern standby devices are the basis of many threads in this forum. With some of the issues we have observed here surrounding these devices , I think it is fool hardy to run a laptop with its lid closed or keep it on while it's in an enclosed bag. There have been many reports of overheating which reduces the life of your device and even report of these devices catching fire.

I tried the reg option and file option so I could see the network option in power options but it didn't seem to take. Not sure if I need to reboot or what. I clicked on balanced plan and it was, clicked on my custom plan and it showed up there as well. Network is enabled on battery and plugged in.
You convinced me to keep my laptop open.

I do not own a modern standby device myself so my thoughts aren't from personal experience, only the things I've read.
Work your way through this guys post which relates to a Lenovo. You might get lucky and it help you too.
