Wifi gone on one computer

Two days ago, out of the blue, my wifi quit working on one HP computer. Two other HP's work fine. I did an HP diagnostics test on the wifi module and it failed.
This computer is a year and a half old! Has anyone ever had to replace a wifi card, was it fairly easy and did it work?
Was there ever a question about legitimacy after replacing that piece of hardware?

My wifi is Quantum Fiber

No (extended) warranty ?

If it's a PC, changing wifi adapter is a snap. Little bit more difficult in a laptop because of disassembly but still not hard. With how good usb wifi adapters work these days, if my wifi adapter goes out I just pay $15 for one of these with which I get a stronger wifi signal than I do with my others that have internal adapters.
We have 2 PCs in this house that were not equipped with wifi and I use this in both of them.

@remover....I've tried your suggestions. Unfortunately didn't work for me.

If you choose to replace the internal wifi adapter, go to HP, select support, enter your serial #, it will pull up your device. You can download the maintenance manual for your device that will tell you how to remove and replace the wifi adapter.. But really, usb is the way I would go. Just disable your current adapter in device manager before you plug in the usb one.

I have installed Wireless Cards on PCs, and used USB Wifi dongles, and know what specs are needed for a given performance.
With Manufacturers PCs and Laptops they sometimes white list certain WiFi Cards. Others may work, but it depends...

My dealings with HP trying to get hold of spares has been bad. So if more proprietary WiFi hardware rather than a standard PCI-E Card you may find difficulties, but you have to try.

PCs should work with alternative PCI-E Wireless Cards assuming a spare slot available, or by replacing the dead PCI-E one.
Recent moves have been to M.2 Wireless Cards. Even a PCI-E Card may have an M.2 Card internally.

You can use a USB WiFi dongle but you do need to look at the specs, the TP Link one referenced is very old and just 1 channel at 5 GHz USB 2 limited which is very poor by modern standards, a low budget choice.

I've swapped out a WiFi card in an old laptop, not because it didn't work, but because no version of Linux came with drivers for the old one. Mine was an easy swap, both my WiFi cards plugged into an M.2 slot.

Check your manual, if it's listed as a 'user replaceable' item then it shouldn't even invalidate any warranty.
