I know what you mean. The two USB-A 10Gbps ports on my desktop are on the back of the computer. Since the computer is on the floor under my desktop it is a real pain to get to these ports. When I tested the external SSD with these ports the enclosure hung by its short cord from the port. I ended up buying a powered USB 3.1 hub to access these ports from the front of the computer.TThe 4 USB-2 on the back is by design mate.
That cable is too short, the SSD would be hanging from the PC
This cables are great for laptops, no so good for desktops
