Hi, I have a Asus Proart studiobook H7640JI
I have it set so the screen saver comes on as it advised it to help with the OLED display, i also have it set to lock my laptop after so long as well.

I am finding, when it's been left a while and i have to log back in, the wifi icon bottom right always has to reconnect.

I have looked around at each setting i can think of, but cannot find anything that tells this laptop to turn on/off the wifi when it locks or after so long of inactivity etc..

Can anyone help at all please, as i really don't want it turning off automatically.

Regards
James

Try this. Go to control panel>power options>To the right of whichever power plan you are using select change plan settings>select change advanced power settings>expand wireless adapter settings>expand power saving mode>under it's setting change to maximun performance. Apply-OK

Go to control panel>device manager>expand network adapters>Right click on wireless adapter>select properties>
select power management tab>Uncheck allow computer to turn off device to save power>OK

Mine has neither of these options available.
I have just noticed there are errors in the events
I have reinstalled the driver though, even as early as last night, as intel driver update let me know there was an updated it, so i installed it.

Below are some pics from device manager and events.

You should have those options as detailed in post #2.
my Laptop has the same wireless chipset, same options.

You are missing Power Management Tab in the Device Manager > Properties.

Again you should have Laptop power plans supplied by the Laptop manufacturer in addition to at least one Balanced plan, all of which should have Wireless Adapter Settings > Power saving mode.

I would uninstall the Intel Wireless driver and Bluetooth and install what the Laptop manufacturer supplies.
Which are the same versions I have that work, actually coming thru Windows updates.

I never install the Intel Driver & Support Assistant. Bad experiences from over 20 years ago.

I am hoping i have solved this now.
After doing a bit of googling, i found this site Microsoft Answers
The answer was near the bottom, regarding adding PlatformAoAcOverride to the registry.
After rebooting, the power management tab is back in device manager, and also shows power save modes for wifi in my power plan as well.

Only done it before, so not tried it long enough to know if it solves my wifi cutting out when my laptop have been idle/locked for a while.

Hopefully it fdoes though :)

James
