Hi there,

I did i fresh install today of Win 11 23H2 today. ( Win11_23H2_EnglishInternational_x64.iso )

After a while i noticed that folders with Swedish characters in the start of the name fail to sort. English alphabet goes from A-Z while in Sweden we have three additional characters, Å, Ä and Ö. So we have A-Ö, iow in the end of the alphabet we got ...Z, Å, Ä, Ö.

In the attached image you can see that the folder named Övrigt is sorted between Lagret and Program. This is not expected since Ö is at the very end of the alphabet and the correct sorting would be that the folder Övrigt is last in the list, iow under the folder Z4-Install.

Explorer fails if a folder starts with an Å or Ä as well... Clicking on the Name column to sort does not fix it either.

I installed the EnglishInternational version because of another issue with another app that has problems with "reading" the correct time format, it reads 12 hour clock instead of 24 hour clock. The EnglishInternational were supposed to fix that, and it did.

Has anybody else seen this, can you reproduce it, have you got a solution? :)

Sorting order is determined by your current locale. This problem can also happen in reverse.
Sort by name: AA is not at the start

If you're using English-based locales, then "O" characters fit between L and P.

Try switching back to Swedish region, and using a custom time format under Settings / Time & language / Language & region -> Administrative language settings -> Formats

Yes, that solved the issue! :)

I had been there and tried different settings earlier for the regional settings but apparently i got lost.

Thanks for your help! :)
