Hi,
I bought a new Dell workstation 3660 with
i-7 12700
2 NVIDIA T-600 Cards To Run 8 Monitors
Win-11 Pro
Eight 24 inch Monitors ( 1920 x 1200 ) Resolution

The problems I am facing are :

(1) Text size is too small to read because I have to be at least 4 to 5 feet away from 8 Monitors to keep an eye on them. Currently I am using Win-7 with 12 Monitors without any problems so is this Win-11 problem or Graphics card problem or something entirely different ?
(2) If I increase the Text size in Win-11, then fonts get clipped in half in windows explorer as shown so I can not read Folder & File names.
(3) I also tried increasing the scale in Win-11, but that just enlarges everything & File & Folder names still stay clipped.
(3) The resolution in two monitor is different from rest of 6 monitors. All monitors are 24 inch & 1920x1200 resolution. I don't have this problem in my older system with 12 Monitors & Win-7.

Can anyone running Windows-11 try to increase Text size to 200% or more & see if you have the same problem ? Also please try to increase Scale & see if that helps keeping text size as large as possible ?

Thank You so much.

Yes, there are two options. Either increase font size or increase DPI scaling. If you increase font size, then at some point, the text starts to be clipped by the Window border. This is a known issue, and I do not know a solution. I can only suggest you try setting the font size back to normal and increase DPI scaling instead. Otherwise, the only other suggestion similar to what you are doing would be the Windows 11 Screen Magnifier : How to Enable Screen Magnifier in Windows 11

I only use one monitor. Here are screenshot of my 27 in monitor. First one is what I usually run 150% scale text size slider at 125%. Second one is 200% scale, text size 125%. Third one is 225% scale text slider at 125%. So increasing the scale does not cut the bottom off the letters like yours. It just causes the right side of screen to be hidden.

You are absolutely right. I use 8 monitors & only thing that works like your's is 125% Scaling & 125% Text size. But then it is really small because I have to stay at least 4 to 5 feet away to keep an eye on all 8 Monitors.

But really appreciate your help.

This might sound dumb, but have you observed what occurs during a process of elimination. Disconnect all monitors but 1. Starting with one monitor, then 2, then 3 etc? When you get to the monitor that begins cutting the text off, leave it disconnected, and connect the next one. A particular monitor, a particular graphics port, or a particular graphics card could be causing the issue.

Not really. In first post I am trying to solve issues with Win-11. But nothing helps.
So in 2nd post I am asking if the same machine would run Win-7 which does not have those issues.

There is nothing wrong with Monitors. I am running those same 8 plus another 4 making a total of 12 Monitors right now on 10 year old Workstation.

It's not just a question of a monitor problem. It's a means of determining at what point the fonts begin cutting off and determining if it's a windows problem, a graphics card problem, or a monitor problem, or even a cable problem. You cannot point the problem at windows until you've eliminated everything else.

If you believe it to be so, a repair install should fix it. Repair Install Windows 11 with an In-place Upgrade Tutorial

You might want to take a look at your graphics card drivers as well. There have been new ones released from Intel, AMD, and Nvidia recently
You have been extremely kind & generous with your time & I sincerely appreciate it.
4 Dell engineers updated all drivers & Windows updates about 2 weeks ago & it did not help.
Then a fifth one reinstalled Win-11 & that did not help.

After doing some research I found that Tiny Fonts & Clipped fonts & Monitor resolution are now known issues to many people using Win-11 so only MS can fix it.
Are you using or have used Win-10 ? If so do those issues exist in it ? If not may be installing Win-10 might be one option if Dell would do it because they have pre installed Windows-11 on my machine.

Yes, my main PC came with 10 last August and I upgraded to 11. My secondary machine is still 10. Both Dell Optiplexes. I have used Dell Optiplexes and Precision Workstations for many years.

My research does not completely agree with yours. Yes, there have been some problems reported about font issues, but no more with Windows 11 than any other OS.

There are other things that work with (or against) windows and affect fonts no matter what version of Windows you are using. You may have software installed that has settings that are working in conflict with the Windows settings. You can pretty quickly eliminate it being a third-party software problem by putting the machine into a clean boot state. Did the Dell engineer do that?
Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial

You say this same monitor setup works fine on your old computer. That pretty much eliminates it being a monitor or cabling problem. But consider that the new computer is using totally different hardware and software as well. Are your scale and text size settings exactly the same on both your new and old computers? So much is involved here, each thing has to be removed from the equation to narrow the issue down to Windows. This is why I suggested a process of elimination. Since your 8 monitor setup is working on your old machine, is it not possible to either remove one of the monitors to test with or use a spare monitor?

To attempt to eliminate Windows being the problem, it's only a matter of connecting one monitor to first graphics card. Set Windows 11 settings not to exceed 200% scale and 125% text size, resolution at 2560x1440. If fonts look good on the one monitor, it eliminates Windows being the problem right then. If fonts are off, move the one monitor to the second graphics card. If fonts appear good on one graphics card but not the other, a bad graphics card or the motherboard slot it's using is suspect. If fonts are off on both cards, the issue becomes much more complicated to prove as it could be the OS, but could just as easily point to the cpu or motherboard causing interference as well. Even one of the GPU cards could be interfering with the other. You wouldn't know until testing is done by physically removing one of the cards.

Graphics problems are the most difficult to deal with when using one monitor and one graphics card with hands-on access, let alone trying to give advice to someone using 8 monitors and 2 cards. So many things come into play.

I assume you have been working with Dell over the phone. Since your machine is under warranty, request a technician be sent on site to help you get it resolved. I will tell you any technician that comes on site does not work for Dell but for a contracted company. Because of this, they always seem to be in a hurry to get to the next site. Make sure Dell knows you want them to stay there until it's fixed or the problem narrowed down to one thing or the other. They changed my motherboard 3 times on my new machine for other problems until I finally narrowed it down myself. They shipped me the part and I fixed it. Normal users can't do that so you have to stay on them.

You asked about installing Windows 7. As someone mentioned in your other post, it would be very doubtful. There are no Windows 7 drivers for modern chipsets and cpus. As was suggested also in that post you could run 7 as a virtual machine. You wouldn't know what, if any, issues you would run into until you tried. Best virtual machine software of 2022

The only one I'm familiar with is VMWare Workstation Pro which I run a Windows 7 VM in my older Windows 10 machine. I've never tried running a Windows 7 VM on my new i9. The free version of VMWare Player works well for most people running only one virtual machine. You could certainly try it or one of the other VM softwares available. You need a Windows 7 product key to install it. If you don't have one, let me know and I can help you out there.
VMWare Player Free download here

How to install a VM in VmWare. These are the basics. When it comes to allocation of your hardware, you may have questions so you can come back here. We will need to know the specs of your system & what you will be using the VM for to advise what settings to use in hardware allocation for the VM. You can not allocate all your systems resources to the VM. You have to leave some to run the Windows 11 host.

That's a top of the line system you bought so I hope you can get this worked out and be able to use it for its intended purpose. Good luck.

I have not installed anything except Skype to check Microphone & Speakers and Scanner drivers when Dell engineer did installation & he found that Microphone is not working
Since then 4 Dell engineers worked on it but could not resolve Microphone issue.
So onsite engineer came & clean installed Win-11 & Microphone still did not work. So basically system never worked OR to say that it was kinda dead on arrival.

I dropped the idea of installing Win-7. I just put a new post asking if it is possible to clean install Win-10 by removing the Win-11 M.2 SSD from M/C & put a blank NVMe SSD in it's place & clean install Win-10 by downloading it from Microsoft site as a 30 day trial OR will it not install without a key ? OR does Dell embed the Win-11 key when they factory install Win-11 before shipping ? Also will it cause any driver issues or some other issues ? I am not hardware expert so need help from people like you. Thank you so much.

The key is embedded but works for 10 or 11. There should be no problem clean installing 10. Windows will install enough drivers to get you to first boot and most others through Windows update afterwards but these drivers are not always the latest. What I personally do is immediately after first login I go to Windows Update and pause updates. I then install the latest graphics drivers from the GPU manufacturer site as well as go to Intel.com and run its driver assist app to get the most current Intel drivers. Afterwards, I un-pause updates and check for updates. Any additional drivers are usually detected.

You may not want to do it the same way I do. You can let Windows update install all drivers, with you updating them after Windows is up and running.

Regarding the installation process, drives will not be detected in a Precision unless you insert the Intel Rapid Storage Controller(Raid) driver during the installation process. You have to have the drivers available and stored on an flash drive. Here's how to do this. From Dell support, enter the service tag for your device and select Windows 10 as your OS. Find Intel Rapid Storage Controller driver and download it. It will be in .exe format. Unzip the file. Within the unzipped folder you will find a folder named "F6" Copy the contents of this folder to a usb drive.

Here is Dell's article how to insert these drivers during install. How to Install the Storage Controller (F6) Driver During the Windows Installation Setup Process | Dell US.

onsite engineer came & clean installed Win-11 & Microphone still did not work. So basically system never worked OR to say that it was kinda dead on arrival
That's ridiculous. At that point right there I would have been demanding a replacement machine or returned it to the factory for repair. It can be a bad microphone or a bad motherboard. I've dealt with Dell too much since I bought mine. They will screw you over if you let them.

One thing I want to make sure of. You don't have optane memory installed in that PC, do you?
