I've just been offered Windows 11 on my 2 year old HP ProBook. I'll defer upgrading though for a few months.

I've just been offered Windows 11 on my 2 year old HP ProBook. I'll defer upgrading though for a few months.

The offer appearing means that MS see no reason to block the upgrade on your machine. If/when you decide to upgrade I'd recommend that you don't let Windows Update do it though, it's faster to do an in-place upgrade with an ISO.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October.


    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB ssd, Windows 11 Pro.

Well, then TPM and Secure Boot should be just as important for Windows 10 as it is for Windows 11, no?
My laptop has TPM and secure boot running since I bought it some time back and I had no idea until the other day. It will stay on W10 as the Intel processor is 6th gen, and I already have 2 desktop pc's which qualify, one with W11 and the other waiting.

Click 'Stay on Windows 10 for now'. It will go away and stop bothering/tempting you. If/when you make up your mind you can always do an in-place upgrade, safe in the knowledge that MS have already said there are no known blocking issues for this PC. :wink:
