A full paid product key should still be activated after most hardware changes.. Only certain significant hardware changes trigger re-activation, such as replacing a motherboard.
If a deactivation is triggered, you should be able to reactivate it
- Sign In with Your Microsoft Account: Ensure you are signed into Windows with the same Microsoft account that your license is linked to.
- Open Activation Settings: Go to Start > Settings > System > Activation.
- Run the Troubleshooter: Select Troubleshoot and then click on "I recently changed hardware on this device".
- Select Your Device: Choose the current system from the list of devices associated with your Microsoft account.
- Activate Now: After completing the troubleshooter, select Activate now to complete the process.
- Restart: Restart your system for the changes to take effect
If the troubleshooter doesn't work, you may need to contact Microsoft support for manual activation,
Note: You CANNOT have the key activated on more than one device (device meaning set of internal components) a time.
