my scroll bars are so narrow i can barely see them. i have seen winaero recommended on several sites to fix this. does it work? is it safe? thanks!

Winaero seems to be well-liked around here, but if you just want to change the scroll bar width, you can do it without a 3rd-party tool.

i used to be able to do it thru the registry, but that no longer works. i think firefox is the culprit, but i'm not sure.

Winaero can do a lot of things really easily and done well. Scroll bar width is only one of them.

#7 -- pseymour -- i used to be able to widen the scroll bars in firefox (thru the registry), but after the latest update it doesn't work anymore. i tried it, and even tho i changed the values, nothing happened, and when i went back, the values were the original ones. i don't know if i'm doing something wrong or what, but if winaero will do it, i'll be happy.
#8 -- jacee -- the answer from the link is for windows 10 and is from 2024.

thanks to all for helping or trying to! i appreciate it b/c i am pushing the limits of my tech-savvy capabilities even asking about this tweaking!
