Never mind this one. There is a problem with UUPDump download, I think.

Got a problem with the Windows 11 Build 22621.1 I think.

Is it supposed to run down the screen at 90 mph nonstop? Or is this something new?

Sorry, Count. I got ahead of myself there.

I downloaded Build 22621.1 from UUPDump. When I started to create the ISO, the text scrolled down the screen 90 to nothing. It looked like it was stuck on verifying something. It finally stopped scrolling and a message said there were errors downloading files.

At this point, I think there may be something amiss in UUPDump and nothing we can solve from here.

BTW, I deleted the first download and re-downloaded. Same thing on both downloads.

Well, I'm really embarrassed

I went back and downloaded Windows 11 Pro Build 22621.1 and started the ISO procedure. Lo and Behold, when I let it finish, I now have an ISO! Sheesh! I guess they changed things, but it ain't faster even with the fast stuff at the beginning!

However . . . ! I need the Home version of Windows 11 Build 22621.1 but as with the first try, I got a notice that there was a download error. So . . . At the moment, I guess my only option is to rejoin Insiders. Which is fine because this is going on my lappy and not on my main computer.

I did my own Google search and got THIS -- which is from Microsoft itself, not some result whose source was not identified:

Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 11 Build 22000.588 (KB5011563) to Windows Insiders in the Beta and Release Preview Channels.

This comes from the Windows Blogs website, dated March 15, 2022 -- which based on the wording, appears to come directly from MS itself.

Clearly. MS feels a "Build" designation includes BOTH the 22000 and the 588.

Hi gang,

I downloaded the 22621 .iso from MS insider's site (though I am not enrolled in program - all I had to do was login using my MS account then was able to d/l preview client .iso)

My questions are as follows -
1) Can I upgrade to what seems to be the final build to be released at some point this.summer without being enrolled in insider's program? And, if so, will I get updates for it (right now I am on 22000.708 21H2 build)??

2) For those who have done what I propose to do, did you have any major issues (eg. stability, broken apps,, etc.). Or have things been fairly stable with only minor issues??

I have a 3 yr. old ASUS AMD laptop that has all the updated drivers installed with, of course, an up-to-date backup just in case things go belly up!

Look forward to your expertise in this matter.

No, one is the build number other is the revision number.

When there are updates for that build it always changes the revision number.

Is always presented both together.

That's what you see when you use 'winver' on cmd line on windows.

But one is the build number other is the revision number.

When you update the windows the revision number change.

When you upgrade the windows the build number change and come with the revison number.

You can see it here in this link and it comes from Microsoft itself. :wink:

But this is technical stuff is for programmers and enthusiasts.

Most people doesn't care about that nor of insider versions.

I think someone here has already explained this very well.

It is rather temperamental and you may not get updates (I have experienced it both ways i.e. one one pc, it updated, on another it did not but I never determined why).

Having said that, it will only be cumulative updates now until release, and I doubt we will get too many of those if previous patterns are followed. If you choose to upgrade, I suggest you join the Beta programme and set the option to leave the Insider programme on official release.

In general, it is considered quite stable by most members here, but as with everything no guarantee for all users.

I strongly recommend you make an image backup first of current installation, so you can revert to it if things go pear-shaped (not that likely but not impossible) - I see you say you have made a backup - not obvious what type though.

Your MS account must have joined the Insider program at some time in the past, just signing in with an MS account isn't sufficient. I'm not an Insider so I had to use UUPDump to get an ISO.

I have had 22H2 running on an unsupported Lenovo Yoga 11e laptop since build 22593. It has received all subsequent updates and is now on 22621.1. I have found no significant issues.

Hmmm.. this is how I get Insider ISO's - haven't been an Insider for centuries - I think last was Win 10 Tech Preview or something - wonder when the cut off was?
