Hello,

Anyone else have or seen a problem with Windows 11 where the screen suddenly dims for 1-2 seconds. This happens randomly. Started immediately after I installed Windows 11. Not an issue with the display itself because I use this same display with my work Windows 11 laptop but don't have this problem.

I seem to get this as well, no idea why its happening. I use 2 monitors and both seem to do the same thing.

Hello,

Anyone else have or seen a problem with Windows 11 where the screen suddenly dims for 1-2 seconds.

Screenshot being taken?

Take a screenshot [traditionally, WinKey-PrntScrn],
note the index number in its filename,
wait for an unexpected dimming to occur,
take another screenshot,
note the index number in this one's filename,
compare the two index numbers to see if another has been taken inbetween them.

I don't think it's that. If I press win+prtscrn and take screenshot it gives a little bit different dim that I'm getting.

Okay. I don't expect to be able to help but I do suggest that you try to describe the 'dim' in case it helps someone else help you - in particular, do clarify whether it is a 'dim' or a 'flicker'
[the only time I've seen flickering it turned out to be the display cable failing but I imagine there are other causes].

Perhaps you could capture the dimming on a video taken with your phone? If you are lucky enough to have it to hand at the right time.

Personally, I would reinstall the display driver even if it's just to eliminate it as a cause.
- It doesn't matter if it's the same version as you have now. It's the act of reinstalling that re-references all its components.

Best of luck,
Denis

Here are a few things to try. Try them one at a time.
1.Turn off adaptive brightness (called night light in Windows 11) in settings- system-display-nightlight.
2. Try running your windows windowed instead of maximized. Somewhere, one time I read that fixed the dimming for some people.
3. Go to your power options and set it to 'maximum performance'.
