Windows 11 Deleting Icon Cache Again After Latest Update

I have had my Windows machine set to not delete the thumbnail cache and to maintain a big one. I had gone to the registry entries at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches\Thumbnail Cache

and

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches\Thumbnail Cache

and set the Autorun DWORD to 0. They are still set that way. I also went to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

And added a new String Value named Max cached icons with a large size. It worked great for quite a while. However, as of the bit fall release the icon cache appears to be getting purged regularly again. Have they changed things to make these tweaks not work anymore?

I know nothing about that particular tweak. Though regular updates can & do sometimes undo tweaks, I have found that a version update tends to affect them the most, especially in HKLM. Since File Explorer was redesigned in 23h2 I can see the old tweaks that affect explorer might not work. MS is getting mighty tetchy with explorer. The only thing I can suggest is to try reapplying the tweak and see if it still works. Make darn sure you backup any keys you change though.

The few tweaks I have made have been in HKCU and have not been affected...so far.
