Windows 11 does not recognize the Intel® Platform Trust Technology (Intel® PTT) as a valid TPM 2.0 chipset.

Hello to everyone.

I would like to have some additional informations about Windows 11 and the TPM 2.0 ; Below u can see what the PCHealthCheck app recognizes on my PC :

motherboard = Intel core i9-9900k = OK
RAM = 32 GB = OK
secure boot = yes = OK
disk space = 1000 GB = OK
cpu cores = 8 = OK
clock speed = 3.6 Ghz = OK
TPM 2.0 = not detected = NOT OK

but,from the BIOS of my MOBO I have activated the Intel® Platform Trust Technology (Intel® PTT)

From the Intel site :

I read :

Intel® Platform Trust Technology (Intel® PTT) offers the capabilities of discrete TPM 2.0. Intel PTT is a platform functionality for credential storage and key management used by Windows 8* , Windows® 10 and Windows* 11. Intel PTT supports BitLocker* for hard drive encryption and supports all Microsoft requirements for firmware Trusted Platform Module (fTPM) 2.0.

So,my PC should have all the requisites to be compatible with the TPM 2.0 ; but Windows 11 does not agree with that. What can I do ?

I'm currently running both a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Xtreme and Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Gaming 8 board and both have Intel PTT enabled and Windows 11 installed without issue. You can see my system specs for my main system (system one) which is fully supported by Windows 11 and does have PTT enabled.

That said, can you link to the specific board you have?

Also need to add that in addition to Intel PTT, you also need to enable "Trusted Computing" as that is the TPM side of the house....

Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT)...

Trusted Computing...

Your setting for PTT and Trusted Computing may be under "Peripherals" for your BIOS per page 37 of the downloaded manual. Let us know if this worked :)

it works ! very thanks ! The Security Device Support should be enabled as well. So,now the next step is to learn how can the TPM help me to protect my PC. What should I do now ? Should I configure or install some tool ?

All you needed to do was enable TPM, Windows 11 will then use as necessary. Nothing else needs to be done :)

Don't get caught up on the TPM confusion as there is a lot of confusion and misinformation posted about it. And Microsoft is using TPM beyond BitLocker so there's more to it than meets the eye. In short, BitLocker is not the only reason for TPM.
