Windows 11 Home VPN will not connect

Hello,
I have a client's computer running Windows 11 Home. When I attempt to connect to our VPN server (router with VPN server enabled) with the built-in Windows VPN client usng PPTP, I get the dreaded "A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed." My personal laptop, connected to the same WiFi router and running Windows 7, connects without issue. I have seen a number of "fixes" from the removal of all Miniports, resetting the Winsock, etc., but none have resolved the issue. Apparently, my ISP is not blocking PPTP traffic, so it isn't that.
I have disabled IPv6, just to make sure that that isn't causing it. I am wondering if the Home version of Windows 11 can connect to VPN at all. I have tried just about every solution suggested, although I am hesitant to try registry entries without knowing what is actually generating this error. Throughout my research, I haven't found anything specifying Home vs. Professional as an issue for VPN nor have I found a definitive answer regarding this specific error and what component is generating it.

Most home router VPN's use OpenVPN and you need to install the OpenVPN client on the Windows computer to connect.

I appreciate the response. It's the Home version of 11 that's causing the issue.

Well...hell...
The Home computer is now upgraded to Pro and still returns the same error. NavyLCDR, I appreciate your response, but this isn't a typical home router. It doesn't use OpenVPN.

As I said in the original post, the Windows 7 machine uses the built-in Windows VPN client and connects without issue. It connects wherever I am attached to a network. I've connected with it from a Starbucks and a McDonald's wifi and it works all day.
With the upgrade to Pro, I thought it would just connect, but it doesn't.

Does anyone know what is generating that error? I have yet to find an explanation as to what the error actually means. Windows firewall is off. There is no anti-virus installed, at the moment, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I wouldn't expect an outbound connection to be restricted by a firewall or anti-virus, but they are out of the way, just the same.

VPN is tricky. The built in Windows VPN uses a weaker PPTP protocol while the OpenSource uses a much better and updated secure connection, which by the way is compatible with Windows Pro. I suspect this is a certification/security issue. Try setting the router to use "Auto Configuration" instead at the "Clients will use this VPN to access" blah blah. Hope this helps.

Been getting the same error connected using Windows 11 Pro on ethernet connection through spectrum. Also when we use wifi connection the same error happens.
firewall has been disabled too.

Has anyone else been able to get a fix for this?
