Ever since first upgrading my Win 10 to 11 (an even after doing a clean install) i notice info balloons showing up randomly and at incorrect places..
Does this happen to anyone else?
I have taken a screenshot... I don't remember if i hovered the mouse pointer over the volume icon a few seconds before but during the taking of this screenshot my mouse pointer was at the middle of the desktop.
I have had this happen with other balloons at other places too..
It's Win 11 System try notifications. I usually have one from Input selector (language), but also network. If you are hoovering over system tray, notificati9ons came up late, and in different spot.

Yes. As others have said it's a known (relatively minor) bug that has yet to be fixed. It's not entirely random though, and is easy to reproduce.
First, hover over the combined network/speaker/(battery) icon in the system tray and wait until the appropriate balloon pops up (as it should).
Now go and hover over any empty part of the Taskbar. Another balloon (not the same one) will pop up. Move off the Taskbar and back over it, another will probably pop up (different again). You should definitely get a first popup this way, probably a second, sometimes a third and maybe up to five. The maximum number seems to depend on how many popups your notification area has, with the 'ENG UK' for the keyboard my taskbar has five. Repeat until no more balloons appear and you will not see them again until you next 'prime' it by legitimately bringing up a balloon in the notification area.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.
