Not really. You can covert an OEM license to a retail license just by changing the installed product key to the generic retail product key for the edition that is installed.

That cheap keys are very suspicious. Do they activate automatically or you have to use some suspicious app/script? Since they are probably illegal and they are bound to be blacklisted some time in the future, why pay for them? There are other free ways to activate illegally. No, I'm not telling you, it's against the Forum Rules. You didn't hear that from me, I wasn't even here...

Yes, IF it is activated by a digital license (check activation status in Settings). If you see "Activated by your organisation" then most likely is illegally activated and will need activation again after some months.

These outlets usually (re)sell re-used or corporate keys. No money ever gets to MS, and has been known to eventually trickle down to organisations with which the buyer would not knowingly want to have any dealings

And the uninformed user argues that because the license key works, then it must be legitimate ... ignorant of the fact that it only works because the built-in key checking algorithm in the installation program agrees with the combination and sequence of characters in the license. The fact that the key has been illegally re/sold is irrelevant to their unethical use of the software
