OS
Win 11 Pro 23H2
When trying to install programs, installation fails with message saying Windows 10 or higher required (or similar wording). Some installers say my version is "OS version 6.1.7600", which is Win 7. This is a Dell XPS that was new with Win 11 and has never had any other OS installed. Some programs that fail:
Google Earth Pro
Adobe Photoshop Elements 23 and 24
An independent Photoshop add-on that the author says is compiled with "Inno Setup" and works for his other customers.

I searched all the file on C: for the string "6.1.7600" but found nothing. An Adobe tech was able to install Photoshop Elements 24 manually, bypassing the default setup check, and it seems OK. Also, Google Earth Web does not function in Edge, but runs OK in Chrome (related ??).

Have you any antivirus installed or unusual programs?

I suggest you add a user and see if the same thing happens.

Also, run sfc /scannow

SFC didn't report any problems, and the installation problem remained. However, creating a new non-admin user account allowed the problem programs to install without the previous error messages. Thanks for the suggestion. I still would like to find out what happened so I could fix my primary user account and prevent it from happening again. Any help there would be appreciated.
BTW - the only AV right now is MS Defender, Classic Shell is my start menu (on both user accounts), and I haven't installed any programs designated as single user. How can I find where the version "6.1.7600" coming from?
