Hi, so many ideas about creating bootable disk by usb by so many others.
I am the OP and please make it right.
I will download the windows ISO which contain both home and pro version having install.wim.
2 . I need not be specific in looking any build. is the build relate to kind of window updates please say.
3. Will take a 8gb or 16 gb pendrive and make that bootable using window commands in diskpart commands , only changing the fat32 quick format to ntfs quick.
4. Just copy the contents of total ISO files, using 7 zip extracting the contents to a separate folder and copying the same to the pendrive after the diskpart commands.
5. If need arises , just boot from usb and When prompted which iso, just select the home and provide the o.e.m , or in otherwords generic key for home. If you have pro key, this key could be used to activate pro after installation process is complete
6.Some warned and alerted that you should only provide the generic key, if assembled, or o.e.m provided and not the pro key during install as it will create a mess , as the machine would have this key in the mother board and provision of pro key should be done only after install of windows home. is this point correct?
7. Would not diskpart commands for usb, provided and worked for win 7 not work in windows 11.
8. Rufus and microsoft tool are there, but would not diskpart command work on windows 11
9. I used diskpart commands , going to cmd as admin and issue , diskpart, list disk, select disk, clean, create partition primary, format fs=ntfs quick, active and then exiting the diskpart and then check the pendrive with moba live cd software if it boots from the pen drive.
Please say, if these points are correct as step by step and I will try to create a bootable iso from microsoft site download site.
10. Somebody suggested 2 partitions one fat and ntfs, I did not have any problem in booting windows if i just format the pendrive with ntfs partition instead of fat, as fat format was limited to 4 gb and ntfs do not have limitations.
May some one says if these procedure is correct or not
11. Will it ask for product key if you just install home version as the first choice during install, as some one says it will not ask

You are right except providing the generic Pro key will not store it in BIOS, don't worry. It will only let you install Pro directly. This is as long as Setup doesn't detect a Home or Pro key in BIOS and ask you for one. At this point you can provide your valid Pro key instead of the generic key. Once online Windows will check Microsoft server for a digital license. If the computer has a digital license, it will activate automatically and doesn't matter if you used the generic or a valid key during installation. If there is no digital license yet, and you used the generic key, Windows will ask for a valid Pro key to activate. Why type two keys? Just use your valid key during installation. The generic key allows an unlicensed computer to install Pro for evaluation. If you decide you don't want Pro, there are methods to downgrade to Home (without reinstall) and provide a valid Home key for activation. In your case, you probably want to use Windows 11 Pro, so install Pro by providing your valid Pro key directly. Makes more sense.

I found diskpart always success and it is very easy without any problem.
Just change format pendrive to ntfs and those commands very simple and moba live cd is easy to check it it is bootable.

What is build is it a different version inside pro or just updates
Should one select build no also. I am yet to visit the download site

If you are comfortable typing commands sounds easy. Not all posters feel comfortable typing commands though.

Or skip all of steps 1-4, and just download the media creation tool. it gives you an option to create an ISO or create a bootable USB key. Tell it to create a USB key. No reason to use diskpart at all.

Then install, use the generic key if you want to be sure you are getting 11 Pro. And as long as your box is licensed with microsoft already, the activation servers will take care of it.

As long as you have a valid Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8/8.1/10/11 Pro key you can type it to select the Pro version. There is no need to use the generic key, unless the computer already has a digital license and you don't have a Pro key handy to install Windows 11 Pro. Even better, if the computer already has a digital license, select I don't have a key and then choose the Windows 11 Pro version from the list. You don't need the generic key at all.

showkeyplus show two keys. One OEM key and the other installed key. will not one get confused by this.
OEM key is, I suppose, the windows 11 home key by the oem vendor . This was activated , I suppose, when I opened a outlook account and password .
installed key is the windows pro key that was used to change the version from home to pro.
Is that presumption correct?
In that case, just select I do not have the key and then select win pro version . will that not be safe

Yes, OEM key is the original Home key and installed is the current Pro key. If Setup doesn't automatically detect the Home key and asks you to type one, reply I don't have a key and select Windows 11 Pro from the list.

Thanks for the clarification. what is build no. in home and pro.
Is it a kind of kb in earlier system , i mean window updates and security updates or separate versions in home and pro.
The microsoft words are difficult and at times makes one to not to try anything said as every user would not know

The updates are common for the same version (22H2) of Windows 11 Home or Pro, unless a specific update is for a Pro feature not available on the Home version.

The build number of 22H2 is 22621.xxx The last part increases after every cumulative update, the first part denotes Windows 11 version 22H2 and remains 22621. If I remember correctly latest update gets you to 22621.765

If you are on W11 22H2 then the update to 22621.755 (KB18496) should be offered as an optional cumulstive update in Windows Update. If you are still on W11 21H2 (build 22000) then the Feature Update to 22H2 should be offered in Windows Update.

Go to Settings, Windows Update and search for new updates. Install them all, even the optional cumulative updates. To check your version press Win+R to open a Run window and run the command winver. You can also go to Settings, System, Info, but I am not sure if the build number is shown there.

Doesn't matter what it had on it when you got it. If you used the generic -3V66T key and it activated, then this PC already had a digital licence for Pro on the Microsoft activation servers. That means someone, sometime must have installed and activated W10 Pro.
