So I've run into a minor issue that I've noticed with Windows 11. I have the power setting to shut off my monitors after 15 minutes of inactivity, however, that does not seem to be happening at all. My screens stay on all the time. I've tried changing power plans several times and everything except turning off my monitors works. Just curious if anyone else has this issue or has seen/heard about it? I am on Windows 11 Version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.348).

If anything vibrates the mouse, Windows will interpret that as... activity.
I've had a dumb $9 mouse, "feel" me walking by the computer and so, stop the monitor from shutting down.

Expensive, super sensitive mice, will react to even more subtle vibrations.

If you feel this isn't the cause, then I would start by running sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?

Ran scannow and everything came back good with no issues. I have a wireless mouse which I will turn off to see if this is what is causing the issue.
I'm just curious as I never had this happen when I was running Windows 10. It's not a big deal, just a slight annoyance.

This is one of the main reasons I don't use wireless devices.
For all we know, it could be your neighbor's garage door opener or TV remote, that's causing the problem.

I realize everything is supposed to be different assigned frequencies. But I have seen a lot of things cause interference.

Maybe it's aliens using our wireless frequencies to coordinate the invasion of Earth. :shawn:

I have a feeling you are right. I will leave it be for now and see what happens.

My issue is similar in that the screensaver won't activate no matter what time I set. And mine worked just dandy with this mouse and Win 10 on same machine.
