Windows 11 settings synchronization

Hi

I have two computers running Windows 11 Enterprise with the same Microsoft accounts with Windows different settings.

Since I have to reformat the first computer, how do I make sure that all Windows settings on the second computer are transferred to the newly formatted computer?

I'd also like to know how to force syncronisation. I have had the experience of reformatting a PC (except Win11 Pro, sharing the same account) and windows used the new install as the new synchronize setting. Meaning the established setup was ignored.

Install 22631.2262 on both computers, it seems to be improving backup and restore quite noticeably.

I was assuming that Balubeto was refering to Microsoft account Syncing.

I was just looking into it and noticed that Microsoft Account syncing is now different in Windows 11.

I don’t know how long it takes a MS account to recognise and backup your info, for some reason I remember being asked during Windows install after logging in to my Microsoft account during the install process, if I wan’t to use the settings saved at Microsoft. You’ll have to forgive me, my short and long term memory isn’t always well after a health incident.

Someone more experienced will have to answer that one, I am sorry.

In other words, when I will access a Microsoft account from the first computer, I would like the Windows settings of the same account on the second computer synchronized with the first computer.

You select Settings > Accounts > Windows backup on the first computer, and choose your options from there.

You can choose OneDrive folder syncing, Remember my apps, and Remember my preferences.

Then you may have to make a backup with those settings in place. (I am not sure, because I setup syncing on Windows 10, and then upgraded to Windows 11, and my preferences were remembered on a second machine.)
