Windows 11 wifi issues or PC issue??

Hi all,
Firstly i want to say thank you for reading this, and hopfully you can help or give me some advice.

So yesterday for some reason my internet went really slow and laggy on my desktop PC. Wifi said connected with internet and if i managed to get onto a internet speed test site it was saying 67 +- mb download. which is normal.

Today however, sometimes it doesnt want to connect to my router or if it does connect, it says connected with internet access but nothing loads. Firefox wont load google, apps wont sign in but it says connected with internet.
Now my phone connected to the same wifi works perfectly fine and is fast. Also if i have my phone connected to the Wifi and active my mobile hotspot and then connect my desktop pc to my phones hotspot its works perfect. I mean the speed is abit slower of course but things load.

I cannot work out whats going on with my pc to wifi router at all..

updated drivers to the lastest i think. i tried reseting the network settings on windows 11 resetting the router. but dont think its my router and every device in my house works perfect on the wifi but the pc.

@JoeWard1988 - Are you able to connect your PC to the router using ethernet cable instead of WiFi?

If it works via ethernet but not WiFi then it points to a WiFi issue, which should narrow down your search for answers. WiFi is not as reliable as ethernet cable so maybe you can use ethernet cable permanently?

How is it if you use a different browser, say Edge or Chrome?

The exact same thing. i did think maybe it weas firefox but all the same on chrome and edge. Also if i connect my pc to my mobile hotspot which is connect to my route every browser works fine, its only when my pc is connect to the wifi directly.

Yes iv now run a cable up to the office room and its fine and fast. Ill have to run the cable through the floor and make it clean but it will do for now. Just very frustrating as it was working all fine about 2 days ago.

If you have been using WiFi on the 2.4 GHz band then it can be susceptible to interference. The 5 GHz band is not affected to the same extent.

If it started only two days ago it may be that you (or a neighbour) installed another 2.4 GHz WiFi device that is causing interference. Microwave ovens and various other devices can disrupt the 2.4 GHz band. If the cable idea doesn't prove to be ideal then try splitting the WiFi SSID into separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and then choose the 5 GHz band.

Could Windows Update have messed with your Wi-Fi drivers? You can either go to Device Manager, Network adapters, right-click the wireless adapter and go to Properties. Look the hardware IDs and Google them to find out your model. Alternatively you can see it with Aida64 or similar utility. Download latest drivers directly from manufacturer. If it is earlier version than that already installed, you can force it from Device Manager. Right-click on the wireless adapter, select Update driver, select second option and then second option again. Click on Have disk and browse to the folder where you extracted the driver files.
