Hello all, I am having a weird issue in which if I have lets say 3 windows open. When I move my mouse to one of the other windows on the screen Windows puts me back at the beginning. Like I didn't try to get to a new window. It's like my mouse movement for a second was somehow denied. I don't know how to make this easy to understand. Hopefully someone with the answer will understand the post and help me. Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you saying when you mouse click on another open window that the window you clicked on does not assume focus?

If that be so, the first thing is to restart the system if you haven't already, The second thing is you need to eliminate the mouse itself as being the problem. Try new batteries (if wireless)
Try another mouse, A corded mouse is preferrable when troubleshooting but use any spare mouse you have. If you don't have one, borrow one for 15 minutes.

Perform a clean boot to eliminate software conflict causing the issue. If it doesn't happen in a clean boot, you have some software conflicting with Windows. Brink's procedure will help you weed out which one. Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial

Does it work correctly using the touchpad?
Have you done any troubleshooting at all?

Are you saying when you mouse click on another open window that the window you clicked on does not assume focus? YES! That's a much clearer description. Yes it happens with touchpad. I have searched the web for answers and have tried many. I use StartAllBack and I thought it was a setting in the app but if so, I can't find it.

Uninstall SAB first to see if the issue stops.

@antspants is right. Start by uninstalling SAB, then restart.
If that doesn't fix it, try the clean boot.

I use Open Shell and Explorer Patcher and sometimes I also see this bug. I click on another windows in the background but File Explorer and some other applications, don't remember which, just stays in the foreground. I just minimize File Explorer or the other application to make the one I want come in focus. A minor bug that should fix in some future update of Windows or our customizing applications.
