Windows explorer crashing (when I'm away), per reliability history

I have never had a crash while using the machine, but when I look at my reliability history I see that windows explorer "stopped working" almost every night as far back as I can see. It appears to take programs with it (or they crash it?) since sometimes they are closed even though I left them running. The machine is pretty new and appears to be running fine, but I'd still like to resolve this. Anyone know where to look, or ideas in general?

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. Could a context menu issue really cause crashes when I'm not interacting though?

Hello, and welcome to the forum. Is explorer crashing at any other time or just at night? Do the events occur at around the same time each day? What is the event #? A screenshot of the event would be helpful. In reliability monitor, you can double click on the red X'es which will expand each event. Then in the results below you can then double click on the critical event to get more info.

If the events occur at around the same time every day, you may also be able to narrow it down to an offending application using event viewer. If you've never used event viewer before, it can be quite overwhelming as hundreds of thousands of events happen everyday. The only ones you are interesting in are when there are multiple errors and critical events reocurring. Use Event Viewer to troubleshoot system freezes -

It seems to happen mostly in the evening, but the times are random. Here's an example technical details. I'll look into event viewer next. Thanks.

How do I get the event ID? Double clicking the red X does nothing.

Found some stuff,
I believe what was found and repaired is related to bluetooth.

Your event viewer screenshot is cut off so I can not read all of it. You've had 13 errors in 24 hrs. I feel certain your issue is software related but I am not proficient in analyzing log files. Even though you are not experiencing BSOD, I am tagging our resident log file expert @zbook. Hopefully he can advise you what logs you need to gather and the best way to proceed in narrowing this down to the offending culprit.

This is my thought on Reliability History. Unless I notice an actual problem, I consider the errors as being false positives.
