The update is likely when Microsoft switched to the new App SDK based Explorer. That's the one that's not compatible with some display drivers.

Previously, you could disable feature 40729001 using ViveTool to get back the previous non-app SDK Explorer. If you were already running with that setting, then the update that broke things for you was the one that killed off that feature and forced you back to the App SDK Explorer.

Currently, the only known way to get back the previous non-app SDK Explorer, and stay on a current build, is to use the WindHawk mod, but I don't recommend that option as sometimes you will get a black or missing toolbar depending on how Explorer gets opened.

Switching to the Windows 10 Explorer is safe and reliable.

It only sets some registry values and then restarts Explorer. Those registry settings cause Windows 11 to fall back to using the old Windows 10 Explorer which is still built in to support legacy features, such as the Control Panel.

If run a second time, SwitchExplorer clears those settings to allow Windows to use the current App SDK Explorer, which will still have issues on your computer.

There is nothing to uninstall. Just double-click a second time to go back to the new Explorer. It only toggles some registry values.

But what do you mean "don't work the right click of mouse"? Please provide details. A screenshot will help.

You've changed topic. Now you're asking about ExplorerPatcher. Can we please address the "don't work the right click of mouse" first?

Edit: ExplorerPatcher is a much more heavy-handed way of getting the old Explorer. If you only need to switch to the old Explorer (and don't need/want the other features provided by EP) it would not be wise, IMO, to install EP.

It sounds like you have multiple issues that we need to address one at a time.

What exactly do you mean by "doesn't work correctly"? You stated "don't work the right click of mouse", but that's not enough information. I can't see over your shoulder or read your mind. You need to describe (or show via screenshots) what's wrong.

That question can be answered rather easily:

Please right-click your wastebin on your desktop and click properties (or whatever it will be called in your language).
Then the last option in the window that is shown should be enabled: Ask for confirmation when deleting (freely translated from Dutch language Vragen om bevestiging bij verwijderen):

Whereby I don't reckon with changes caused by ExplorerPatcher itself, but as far as I remember that program does not change the settings of the wastebin.

That may be because the new right-click menu does not work on your computer and when you installed EP, you also checked the option for the old context menu. That's just another simple registry setting. I suppose I could make it part of SwitchExplorer (or an option) but it's really a separate thing. Here's the registry setting for the classic right-click menu:
Does that resolve it?

SwitchExplorer 2.0.0 is now available. It provides options to select both the old Explorer and classic context menu:

No. Here's a breakdown of the issues I'm aware of:

When Windows 11 was first released, Explorer was pretty much the same as what we have in Windows 10, but with a new command bar. It did not have tabs, but everything worked correctly.

Build revision 469 (January 2022): Microsoft broke the feature "Also apply this template to all subfolders". It's been broken ever since. We have no idea when or if it will be fixed.

Build revision 1413 (March 2023): Microsoft changed the Explorer search to show results as you type. In doing so, they removed the drop-down history feature. Previously, the history was based on when you pressed "Enter". With results-as-you-type, the history should be updated once you click outside the search box, but there is no indication that will ever be implemented.

Microsoft introduced some further limitations/issues with the release of the App SDK based version of Explorer. For example, no more drag and drop to the address bar breadcrumbs (but this is apparently coming back), no more direct editing of metadata in the Details pane, and some focus issues such as not shifting focus from the address bar to the current item when selecting New from the upper left menu.

I'm not sure when the App SDK Explorer became a general release for everyone. I think it may have been Build revision 3007 in January 2024, but it was rolled out to insiders back in the Spring of 2023. Anyhow, the App SDK based Explorer has compatibility issues with some display drivers and I believe that's the issue you're seeing. I wouldn't count on seeing a fix for that. The workaround is to run the Windows 10 Explorer via one of several options available to you, including SwitchExplorer.

Without need to install any other program.

I don't know if Microsoft is even aware that the new Explorer doesn't display properly on some computers. But I would expect they're satisfied as long as it displays properly on all new computers and all (or close to all) computers that meet Windows 11 requirements. The problem is almost certainly with the display driver and that's the responsibility of the hardware maker. The hardware maker may have no motivation to release an updated driver if it's pretty old stuff. It's not a conspiracy or anything like that. It's just the way things go sometimes when technology changes. In your case, you still have choices. You can install Windows 10 or run the Windows 10 Explorer with a simple registry change. Sometimes you can't have it all.
