try Indexer Diagnostic (in Store app). It a MS app build for Windows 10. Should work in Windows 11 too

It will show you if the service works, repaire it if it doesn't etc

@AndreTen: just tried searching Store on "Indexer Diagnostic" and got zero response both in Windows 10 and 11. Can you provide a Store link, please? Sorry to be a pest, but I'm curious...
TIA,
--Ed--

Just found it, I think, here: Buy Indexer Diagnostics - Microsoft Store Aha! "Currently Not Available." Something is up, but we won't know what, for at least a while. Sigh.

Looks like it was put on hold.. it was beta after all

Try this link Indexer diagnostics

And, for @lenraphael Run
sfc /scannow in admin command prompt. This should be fixed

next, run Troubleshooter (again in command prompt):
Code:
msdt.exe -ep WindowsHelp id SearchDiagnostic

And Tutorials on Tenforums (hope it'll work on 11) to reset Search indexer:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

Then I tried: msdt.exe -ep WindowsHelp id SearchDiagnostic and got: Troubleshooting Wizard. Windows Online Troubleshooting Service is disabled. . Windows Online Troubleshooting Service is not enabled for this version of Windows.

Lastly, I downloaded the tool and ran the command with the full path to the downloaded script, in an Administrator: Command Prompt box but it failed:

The script executed fine w/o errors. But still can't enable search. Trying to start the search service gives the same error as before.

Appreciate all the efforts.

sfc command failed to fix al errors.

Any other problems, besides search indexer?

Run these 3 dism commands (in admin command prompt):

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /checkhealth
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /restorehealth

Then Reboot (Very important) and right after run:

icacls C:\Windows\WinSxS
and again

sfc /scannow
Windows installation is damaged somehow. Hope this procedure will help. It does (mostly) on Windows 10

To my surprise, both the built in memory test and Memtest86 reported memory errors.

So does Indexing do a memory check before starting?

Will replace the bad memory chip(s) and then resume following the above suggestions.

Thank you all again

Even when you get windows indexing to work and you do a search, then you close search, it doesn't refresh. I leaves the search results on your screen. There is a problem with it.
