I believe it is a firmware driver update.
Look in device manager > Firmware and you should be able to match up that driver version.

It could also be in the Computer section of device manager.

This is probably one of those left hand/right hand situations.

OEM's like MSI can provide firmware updates to MS, so they can be pushed to PC's which are behind in critical BIOS versions. MS repackages the firmware so Windows Update can distribute and install them. But MS doesn't come up with the BIOS image, or the rules for which PC's get them.

The Microsoft Update Catalog is a searchable list of updates and drivers.

Keyword search is a little funky, but searching for "Micro-star 1.0.0.15" returns a list of results. Now whether your PC really should get this firmware release instead of another may be an example of the left hand and right hand of MSI not talking to each other. It's like when Windows Update gives you a "bad" driver, some vendor provided without enough clarity as who should receive the update.

Does BIOS flash itself when facilitated via Windows Update on a desktop? I know it does on laptops.. I might be wrong but if it installed via Windows Update without the PC rebooting to install it then it's a device firmware update.

There's a feature called Capsule updates, where Windows can write to firmware without forcing you to reboot into EFI or an USB drive.
Generally you still have to restart, so the new firmware can take effect.

As I understand it and how it works on laptops, device firmware (component/s) is updated the normal way and should be fully updated before BIOS is flashed.

How it works on my laptops is WU instigates a UEFI flashing and once accepted will then reboot to update/flash the UEFI outside of Windows. That's the time the fan/s are spinning really fast.
That's how it's always worked on my laptops but might be different for Desktops, I dunno.

I am pretty sure this driver is part of the MSI Driver Utility Installer which is a BIOS-level feature, often appearing automatically after a new build or BIOS update, that allows for one-time automatic installation of chipset, LAN, and audio drivers without needing Windows. It can be enabled/disabled in the BIOS advanced settings, or replaced by MSI Center in Windows for ongoing updates.
I personally do not use this and have it turned off in the bios. I prefer to handle the driver updates on my system myself.

Peace
Wanna
