@dacrone I see Middle Mouse button, would that be the correct setting.

@dacrone Hi that does work :) is there any chance of making it 2 finger tap? instead of 3 fingers

can you assign 2 finger tap to middle click on your pc? it'll be the same script just the change on your end to do that

@dacrone It's not a default option in Settings, it requires AutoHotKey or something in the registry editor, those things i'm not good with haha

i'd have to play with it when i get some downtime. typically on a touchpad, 2 finger tap = right click, so i'd have to disable that and override that funcitonality.

@dacrone Yeah and i never use 2 finger tap to right click, so getting rid of that functionality would be fine.

here, try this one. when Photos is the active window, it should:

2 Finger Tap (equivalent to Right Click) sends 3 Finger Tap instead
AND
Middle Click (which is mapped to 3 Finger Tap on your laptop) shows/hides Film Strip

this should only work inside of Photos app. outside of photos app, 2 finger tap should remain it's normal behavior (most likely Right Click equivalent).

close that script (exit it from the tray), load photos and two finger tap on a picture. what does it do natively?

@dacrone It brings up the context menu without a script running :) so normal behaviour

use the script from post 23 and also run this one too. this always overrides 2 finger tap with 3 finger tap. if it works i will narrow it down to only when photos is active
