I installed kb5012170 - kb5016629 and kb5015732 (network enhancement). when i installed them i could not use windows subsystem.
it said go to windows store. what i did was uncheck 3.5 and 4.8 reboot and check them back in by update. rebooted and then windows subsystem worked again. there is a flaw where i dont know, just a heads up for those with the same problem.
