Solved Windows Tools folder missing from All Apps list

Just noticed that the Windows Tools folder is missing from my All Apps list since the most recent Windows 11 Cumulative Update. Any way to re-add it?

Mine is still there after update.
The link resides in C:\Users\Your user here\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
The links properties are %windir%\system32\control.exe /name Microsoft.AdministrativeTools and it is of type shortcut.
It is owned by System.
There is a Windows Tools folder in the same location but it is empty.

Maybe recreating the shortcut in that location will bring it back?

Easier method by far

1) search in the menu for Windows tools -- mine is in Icelandic but same process in English.



2) right click on it - and select 2nd option which will point to the location in file explorer





3) now you can right click on that -- I sent mine to desktop -- create short cut but you can do whatever you want with it. The send to desktop --create short cut is the 2nd option in the most right popup. (The Eng version is the same). You can see on my desktop I've got the cogwheel icon for Windows tools. 3rd row down leftmost icon

Note don't choose the Windows tools FOLDER == choose the one like I've done .

Fixed it with a simpler solution - copied the Windows Tools link in C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs to the equivalent folder under my User account.

Anyone know why there's a blank Windows Tools folder in the Start Menu folder by default?

Possibly for future use, I have often wondered why there are so many (I mean, count them one day) empty and duplicate folders throughout a Windows install... MS knows!!

Possible future removal of the app?

Luckily I had already pinned the old Win Tools app to the task bar on the Dev channel long ago. No WT app in all programs list and only a link available. Hopefully someone on the Dev channel can confirm.

With the 'new' WT I could only pin to start or create a short cut. Only way to pin to taskbar was to pin the control panel itself.






With a bit of luck they might scrap the idea
