How is it possible for an earlier version of W11 to replace a more recent version, and without asking for my consent? On several occasions, both on my laptop and on my PC, the 26H2 version was replaced, without my knowledge and without asking for my consent, by a 25H2 version. This seems odd at the very least, yet it happened several times between August and today., even with"Beta" and "Future platforms" checked in the Insider options. This is an unacceptable dysfunction. Can anyone explain why this happens, please, and how to avoid it without scrutinising permanently or quit the Insider program alltogether?

Sounds like you have the Beta insider program selected. Since Beta is still currently only on 25H2 and doesn't support 26H2 yet that may explain it.

That will work or you can go up to Dev 26340.XXXX builds. I still have two PC's on Beta since I actually have more features with the 25H2 Betas then my 26H2 Release Preview build lol. For that reason I haven't been in a rush to move them and MS will eventually shift Beta to 26H2.

They are going to have to put a newer build in The RP soon.

For example, the newer streamlined Run Dialog. Most of then Dev build 26340.XXXX feature codes are also in the beta builds and can be enabled using vivetool. The same codes are not in the Release Preview builds or won't be until later on down the road.
