Is windows VLSC a different OS software or is the same with a different license.

If it's a a different software, how many index (types) install.wim (or install.esd) has?

Volume licence versions are more or less same as normal versions but with less "bloat".

However they are licenced separately and (most cases), you need a volume licence agreement to use them. These areainly for companies/ education organisations are are lease payments (min 5 licenced) not one off purchases.
