Wrong character shown for alt 8369 in anything but notepad

I had a problem with the peso character showing on my system, I installed then reinstalled the Philippine character codes and now it shows as it should so all is correct, the character exists as it should.
If I hold the alt key and input 8369 in notepad I see the correct character the ₱ sign, if I open notepad++ or type it in the search bar in my browser I see this character ▒
Does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix this annoying problem (or the alt code to use) as now I have to find and copy and paste the key from elsewhere instead of just inputting it easily as I should be able to.
It also works correctly in Word.
Summarize: alt 8369 works perfectly in Notepad but other apps and any browser it shows ▒ instead of ₱

What browser? If it's not Edge, try it in Edge to see if it works right there. I know little about character codes, and just thinking out loud here but Notepad++ is third party. If your browser is third party as well, I would be looking at the language settings in both those apps.

Easiest way, create in Notepad, copy > paste to browser search option

In HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Input Method, create a string value called EnableHexNumpad. Set its value to 1. Reboot. (edit: Logging out appears to be sufficient.)

You can do this from the command line with : reg add "HKCU\Control Panel\Input Method" /v "EnableHexNumpad" /t REG_SZ /d "1".

Then to enter the peso symbol, you need the hex value, so 20B1, not 8369. Hold down an Alt key, press + on the numeric keypad, type 20B1, and let go of Alt.

I tried adding the English (Philippines) language feature to 24H2.

20b1-ALT-X doesn't work in CMD or Edge.
ALT-8369 (numpad) doesn't work in CMD, but displays ▒ in Edge

Hey thanks so much for this post, I already put that entry into my registration data base but I input the code in an incorrect manner and I failed to make it work.
I appreciate your post so much, problem solved in all my browsers, It inputs the ₱ sign just as it should so I'm a happy camper.
The only problem I have is with my Roboform editor opening another form when I use it inside the browser. Thanks for your help!

I have multiple browsers, same in each and every one, including Edge: Notepad++ is set to use UTF+8, it's simple to change the charmap encoding.
It's definitely a Windows problem as when I changed the registry and input the solution given it works perfectly. The U+20B1 is present in all charmaps (it's a standard currency symbol) but in windows 11 it appears not to function correctly. Luckily for me the lower case b works correctly so I don't even have to make sure I need to remember to caps lock the B lol.
Perhaps I should find a way to complain to Microsoft as it must be a coding problem in the source code? If it works in Notepad correctly but not any browser it has to be the way the program is interpreting the input. My original post about this was because using character map I couldn't find the sign, it must have been me because it had to have been there. Perhaps it's the way the OS treats a browser, encoding it differently, I have no clue how that happens?
I use Roboform by default and that was causing a problem when I tried to use the alt+2 key, but that has the option to change the key codes to make it work so they have thought of this kind of interference within the Browser or application (I RTFM lol)
I personally have found this very inconvenient, I kind of expect it to work correctly just using the assigned input method, MS must be aware of this problem?
I just read: By default, the numeric keypad way of entering characters by code can only access the first 256 characters. (I believe these are defined by your system's code page for non-Unicode programs.) Codes bigger than 256 get wrapped around, so code 257 actually gets you character 1.

There should be an application to set a custom key combination for the symbol you want. So you press the key combination to type that symbol. I don't remember which one.
