Solved WU to an external USB drive (aka Win2GO type system)

Hi folks
just to remind people that if you are using WU to update to a newer release that you've got on a USB device as a Windows to GO system you need to change the PortableOS regkey to 0 and re-boot - otherwise the system will "error out".







This is particularly true if you are using a load of physical vhdx files with different W11 versions on an external USB device as WintoGO systems:

After changing key and re-booting -- all working fine again - No need to pay for 3rd party software to create / use / update WintoGo type systems. !!!!

Note : This also means that you can copy / clone the system to an internal HDD / SSD etc without the system thinking it's installed to an external device - so a good way to test W11 systems without making changes to your INTERNAL HDD's until you are satisfied that the install works properly plus any software you want to install and test on physical Windows rather than VM's !!!.
