Yahoo Mail + Outlook Failure to Set Up

I was having some Desktop (Office 2021) Outlook account issues and opted to first try a new profile and then, when that didn't work, completely reset Outlook to initial use. Neither option worked. I can re-add my Microsoft and GMail accounts, but I can't add Yahoo anymore. I've tried the automatic method (Office 2021) and manual settings...it won't connect. When accessing online Yahoo account wouldn't allow me to make a new "app password...I just receive a "this feature isn't available right now" error, I even tried using my actual password and that doesn't work. Is this just a coincidence with Yahoo server(s) being down or is there something else I'm not doing? I seem to still be able to access it from Outlook mobile...which is weird. I'd really like to add my Yahoo account back on. Any recommendations are appreciated.

There’s lots of problems between Yahoo & Microsoft mail apps at the moment. Users either find they cannot add their accounts or that the emails arrive as HTML.
Yahoo shouldn’t require an app specific password with Yahoo it should just take you to the Yahoo sign in page to authenticate the request to use the account under Outlook.
If you download say Thunderbird is there any problem in setting up the account?

It definitely appears to be coincidence...issue within the last 24 hours. Now my laptop with Outlook won't connect to Yahoo server. Phone seems to still connect and, yes, Thunderbird is working (I only have this installed on my desktop as a backup).

My only problem with outlook using Yahoomail is the message formatting depending on where the email came from. Sometimes it comes like a bunch of garbage codes (HTML format). Sometimes it comes like a PDF format.

The only option is to wait until Microsoft fix the problem

That's what I figured...maybe it was a recent Office update or something...especially if it is only affecting desktop versions (possibly Microsoft 365 too). Yahoo is messed up too...can't create the app password anymore.
