Hello, Insiders! My name is Samer Sawaya, and I’m a Product Manager on the Apple Experiences team. Our team has an exciting update that will make finding the right template for your content in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint for iOS much easier.

Search for templates in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for iOS​

We’ve heard from many of you that you rely on templates to speed up the creation of documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. So, we’ve made it simpler than ever to find the template you need! You can now search for templates by keywords.

How it works​

  1. Open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint on your iOS device and navigate to the Create (+) page.
  2. To search for a template, type a keyword or phrase in the Search box at the top of the page.

    NOTE: You’ll notice a small set of best matches for your search phrase. If you want to view more options, select Show More.

Scenarios to try​

  • In Word, type cover letter to find a template for writing a cover letter for a job application.
  • In PowerPoint, search for photo albums to create a photo slideshow.
  • In Excel, search for budget to kickstart your financial wizardry.

Availability​

This feature is available to all Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for iOS users running Version 2.97 (Build 25053025) or later.
