  1. Windows 11 drains battery when laptop is shutdown - Fast Startup is disabled

I found the "advance" settings in BIOS. Here are the options in BIOS after enabling it. But again I haven't found anything regarding shutdown states or even battery states (that get changed by Dragon Centre when I limit the charging to 60% or 80%). Since finding the advanced options, I disabled...
  2. Windows 11 drains battery when laptop is shutdown - Fast Startup is disabled

After trying everything in this thread I think my only hope is maybe something in BIOS. Because I still lose about 2-3% a day and it's extremely annoying. Attached is how my BIOS looks. Maybe there's something I'm missing. I have even disabled C state in BIOS hoping that might've been it...
  3. Windows 11 drains battery when laptop is shutdown - Fast Startup is disabled

Wifi didn't help because I often use airplane mode to tether via USB from my phone. So often I shutdown the computer on airplane mode and the battery still drains Unfortunately pressing shift while shutting down doesn't seem to be doing anything. I still lose battery while the laptop is turned off.
  4. Windows 11 drains battery when laptop is shutdown - Fast Startup is disabled

Oh i understand now. Thanks. Oh, I thought it was something automated to have it off at shutdown. I don't want to have to do that all the time manually.
  5. Windows 11 drains battery when laptop is shutdown - Fast Startup is disabled

I'm confused. I'm looking to completely shutdown my computer so that battery will no longer drain. Wasn't S0 used for deeper sleep state, and now I disabled that so hopefully the computer fully shuts down? S3 I assume would consumes a lot more battery than S0 would, but I don't care as I want...
  6. Windows 11 drains battery when laptop is shutdown - Fast Startup is disabled

How did you make sure the wifi completely turns off? I have done the PlatformAoAcOverride tutorial and now my only state is S3. When I do windows -> Shutdown, does this mean my computer completely turns off, or is it now entering state S3?
  7. Windows 11 drains battery when laptop is shutdown - Fast Startup is disabled

Battery drivers say are up to date, altough the date is 2006. I have done the other things in the article, such as reconfiguring power management and unticked all drivers that showed up in wake_armed. Not sure about 4, they only give example the Intel Management Engine Interface, and it's for...
  8. Windows 11 drains battery when laptop is shutdown - Fast Startup is disabled

Hello everyone. I have a MSI GL65 9SD laptop and my laptop loses about 5% of battery every day while the laptop is turned off, and the fast startup is disabled. My problem is similar to this: Redirecting The OP in that thread mentioned it could be something with the BIOS. What can I look for...
  9. Installing from a Windows 11 Pro stick gets Windows 11 Home installed

Thanks! So basically Win 11 home is pro with some locked features since I don't need to uninstall/re-install?
  10. Installing from a Windows 11 Pro stick gets Windows 11 Home installed

My laptop had Win 10 Home. Someone from my family bought a Windows 11 pro. When I used the stick, Windows 11 home was automatically installed (no option). I somehow believe it got Windows 11 Home installed because my laptop hardware keeps record of Win 10 even if the HDD is completely wiped out...
  11. Win11 drivers are borking my laptop

Thank you very much for your replies. I didn't ended up using the tools because my Laptop drivers are old (2019) and most of them don't even install from the MSI website. I managed to find Intel graphics, bluetooth and Wifi + nvidia drivers separately. But unsure where to get the correct...
  12. Win11 drivers are borking my laptop

That's the problem. Unlike windows 7 where I could install reach driver one by one and figure out which one was the problem, in win 11(and 10) everything is batched together. My only option is to stop driver updates all together. I can't find any other explanation why everything works fine...
  13. Win11 drivers are borking my laptop

I come from an issue with Win 10 and Win 11 does the same problem. Basically, as soon as internet is connected after fresh install, my laptop (MSI GL65 9SD) takes up to a minute to start and shutdown and over 30 seconds to detect any new USB peripherals (sticks, external hdd, phone). This ONLY...
