23H2 to 24H2 inplace upgrade fails second boot phase 0xC1900101 - 0x40017

Hi, I successfully updated several pcs to 24H2 using inplace upgrade with media creation tool iso and setup /product server method. However I have one pc which keeps failing during second boot phase. This was recently updated to 23H2 from Windows 10 without any issue so not sure where the problem is located, but searching the error code indicates possibly drivers. I've tried to see issues in C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\setupact.log without success and I havent been able to get logs using Setupdiag. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and run chdsk/dism/sfc without issues. This pc is running in legacy with secure boot disabled. I have another pc running in legacy bios with secure boot disabled which has successfully updated to 24H2 from 23H2, so dont think legacy/secure boot should be the issue. I dont like giving up so hope someone may give some help. Thanks.

What CPU do you run in the problem PC?
For 24H2, CPU's need to have the SSE4.2 instruction set. There's NO work-around for that.

CPU-Z (free) will tell you what instruction sets your CPU has.

I don't know...

Converted mbr to gpt and now have secure boot and uefi in case this was issue. Tried upgrade again but fails second boot phase.

Managed to get setupdiag logs with info
Error: 0xc1900101-0x40017 Found crash information in rollback log.
BugCheck Code: 0x00000050
Driver: nt
SetupPhase: FirstBoot,End

Not sure what next?

I'm having the exact same issue.
I have a room of identical hardware 20 PC's all on Win11 23H2 I ran setup.exe from the 24H2 ISO on all of them and only 4 upgraded correctly.
All the others came back with the error "upgrade fails second boot phase 0xC1900101 - 0x40017"

Things I have tried on one of the PC's which won't upgrade.

BIOS Update
MEI Update
Removed local profiles
Audio Drivers Update
Graphic Drivers Update
NIC Drivers Update
HostBridge Update

Reinstalled Chipset driver

At a loss now - really don't want to have to re-image 15 PC's just to get 24H2 on them.

Any other ideas what could be causing this roll-back?

This was my final straw before doing a clean install.
Worked out fine:

Boiled down to running .\hvciscan_amd64.exe and manually delete all the offending *.sys drivers.

Please post a whole window Disk Manager image of ALL your drives. Don't forget to expand the columns so we can read them. How to Post a Screenshot of Disk Management
If you have a MiniTool or AOMEI Partition use it instead or Windows disk manager.
