With Win mail in address bar, live.com I can log in and log out, but from task bar (local) there is no log in or log out. similar to Gmail.
Please explain re: security. If I use the taskbar as my client am I as secure as if I use live.com? Or secure at all?

Are you still talking about when using the New Outlook app pinned to your taskbar, which you were when this question was answered for you three weeks ago?

Basically yes, when you open "New Outlook" you sign in to all your Email Accounts you have setup in the App. So you sign out of them when closing the App.
Thus very convenient if you have several Email Accounts.
