3 problems I need help to fix

First off, my details.



Issue 1. When checking dism /online /cleanup-image /analyzecomponentstore it reports that I have 2 reclaimable packages which I should remove using Component Store Cleanup. I have run (as admin)

sfc /scannow
dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase

I did an in-place install of Windows 11 and that did fix my problem, but I ended up with far more issues than I had in the first place, so I reverted back with Macrium Reflect. Any ideas how I can remove them?



Issue 2. Since the January Windows update, I get many Event 3503 errors 'Device Association Service detected an endpoint discovery failure'. What is the secret to removing these errors?



Issue 3. I've got the dreaded Windows Configuration Update (KB5035942) in the Update History/Other Updates which changes the date every day I boot up. If I click on the Learn More link, it tells me it was an update on March 26, 2024. I have tried many attempts to remove it using Google/Microsoft and nobody seems to have found an answer. Any ideas?





If I could solve these 3 issues, I'd have a near perfectly running system. If you have managed to solve an y of these issues, please lead m e in the right direction. Thanks.

Sorry, I did type "I also tried rebuilding the component store from a file I found on this site (I think Brink linked to it somewhere)." but was getting confused. That was something to repair windows update when trying to remove the Windows Configuration Update (KB5035942) from history. That didn't work either.

1. EVERYone on 24H2 has 2 packages that "can't" be reclaimed.



2. Unless something isn't functioning properly... just ignore Event Viewer. MS has pretty much let it fall to uselessness.

3. See #2 and just apply the same reasoning to Update History/Other updates.


Now wasn't that easy?




P.S. If you don't run: Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase
Disk Cleanup will erroneously report how many MB still need to be cleaned.
On the results page... it will show something like 194MB left, which isn't true.

I do try to ignore these things Ghot, but every time Microsoft has a Windows Update, they seem to add another issue. I wish they spent more time trying to fix issues before introducing new features.

I will take your advice Ghot and try to ignore them. I shall try to be an Ostrich and bury my head in the sand lol.

Don't do that.

I'd probably suffocate too.

a) I get that too.
b) I agree with @Ghot on this one - just ignore it.
c) I never look at errors unless I have a seriously lagging or stopped system. My computer could be going to hell in a handbasket and I would never know it simply because it does things at the speed I expect.
d) the askwoody site seems to have, as one of its self appointed obligations, pointing out upcoming fixes that don't. If you are interesting in updating bleeding edge, you might look at that.(though in my opinion they are way over careful.)
e) I use a 1 month behind approach and I use WuMgr so I never seem to hit the bad MS "fixes".
f) you have to tune all of the above to your needs at the moment!

Regarding the event, I believe it's caused by wifi OR a wifi connected device. Lots of goo info here.
