I've mapped a folder and Windows won't let me delete anything in it or place anything in it, Come on windows, it's my computer, I'm an administrator, I mapped the drive but I can't do anything in the folder unless I go through file explorer to get to it.

Are you on the computer locally and have rights to view the directory ACLs?

From the screenshot it looks like your remotely trying to view the sharing permissions, log onto the system locally and show us the permissions and share tab

The Advanced is what I showed in post 3, and this is the total Share tab:

The fact that your missing the sharing tab on the first two screens leads me to believe you have the Server service disabled.

Win + R
Type 'services'msc'
Look for 'Server'
Make sure it is started and start up type is automatic

No drive V is not in the list. Doesn't seem to be a way to add it either.

Why not just boot any Windows install disk -->repair system-->command prompt and then simply manually delete the offending files / directories.

OK too late - I see you've fixed it -- but next time !!

Cheers
