Good morning.
I noticed some strange behavior after the SySPrep Audit Mode procedure.
I tried both the W11 24H2 ISO and the new 25H2 ISO to run some tests in audit mode, without including any updates or apps.
Then I generalized and shut down the system, and the virtual machine ended the session normally without any SysPrep errors.
When I install the generalized ISO to verify the ISO I created, I get an installation error.

Then I performed a specific test:
I decompressed the ISO 23H2 and replaced the “boot” folder and the “install.wim” file taken from the ISO 24H2/25H2.
In the virtual machine, following the usual procedure in Audit Mode, I performed the generalization without any problems.
When installing the ISO created to verify the procedure, the operating system installs normally without any error messages.
So I cannot understand the causes of the error I was getting previously with the original 24H2 and 25H2 disk structure.

Removed Windows.old when you're doing sysprep? That's a change introduced by 24H2.

and, to be on the safe side, I also ran the app cleanup command for the audit user.

Boot into normal WinPE, Shift-10 to open a CMD and examine your partially installed Windows system.

Look under the \Windows\Panther and Panther\UnattendGC logs for any clues to why the install failed.

Sometimes onedrive with private folders causes it to fail. I uninstall onedrive before sysprepping (and creating custom isos) and reinstate after installtion.

Ciao, scusa per il disturbo, ultimamente stavo cercando di fare un sysprep sulla stessa build, hai mai capito quale fosse il problema? anche a me dava lo stesso errore però solo dopo il messaggio di reboot, poi non si riavviava mai.

Now I can run and complete the SysPrep procedure without errors, even using the same ISO 25H2.

The basic requirements for running Audit mode and then completing the SyS Prep procedure without errors are to work with ISO without any autounattend files and to delete all AppBundles for Audit users.
