They're both good performers, Edge just carries a lot of extra baggage, which tends to make it a resource hog.

Every since trying Vivaldi I've had no interest in Firefox, Chrome, and Edge even though I have them installed as well.

For some "mysterious" reasons, Edge uses less memory than Chrome and Helium do in my case. However, the difference is not significant, and memory consumption is not an issue for me. I rarely have more than five tabs open.

i use Vivaldi as its an all in one browser
browser, email and calendar all together
and no AI. i even disabled everything gemini.

Plus built-in ad/tracker blocking, unmatched customization, superior tab management (workspaces, tab stacking, and tiling), more privacy-focused than Chrome, and less data collection than mainstream browsers.

i use the ad blocker but have this site set to no blocking
i disable most of the tab settings i just use a few tabs
but i do use an extension 'tabs to the front' v2
so when i open a tab it becomes the active tab

i also use customisation and privacy is paramount
hence 'cookie auto delete', duckduckgo and malwarebytes extensions
along with cloudflareWARP but i use the Flatpak version which is sandboxed.

it reminds me of the old Netscape Navigator browser.

Okay.. I have way to many windows and tabs open, to be able to do like that.

My footprint on memory is several GigaByte. *lol*

Long term Opera user on Windows and 2 Android Devices.
I prefer Operas Speed Dial implementation and have created custom Speed Dial Icons for Windows.
I have tried other Browsers over the years going all the way back to Netscape.
I also have Brave on my Windows PC.
I have not tried Vivaldi for a while, Edge and Firefox need the Jenny Craig treatment.

Chrome requires more storage than Edge so I binned Chrome and use Edge

I was an original Opera user from when it became free to when it went Chrome. I had been seeking alternatives and had hoped the Otter Browser Otter Browser would be a good choice, but it never caught on for me. When Vivaldi came out by the co-founder and former CEO of Opera, I tried that and even though I have tried other browsers and currently have Vivaldi, Edge, Opera, Pale Moon, and Cent installed Vivaldi is my default, and the next most used is Edge, I am not anti-Chrome based browser obviously, but the reach of Google has kept me from installing Chrome, especially when I have sufficient browser coverage. I do have Chrome on my Android phone although I rarely use it

On my Linux systems whether VM or HOST and with the KDE desktop I use konqueror. It's a good browser, works also as a local file manger with built in wysiwyg text editor and an ftp client. All the usual extra stuff works e.g play video, read pdf etc.
List or folder view choice etc and much better bookmarking system than edge plus I still like MENUS which is why I use Firefox still on Windows.

A couple of days ago I installed the cent browser on one of my windows 11 pro computers, and while I realize it's basically just somewhat of a clone of the chrome browser it's got some additional features & settings that at least in my opinion make it a better browser overall.

Both Chrome and Edge are huge data collectors, the big difference being Chrome tries to hide it's data collection, Edge doesn't.

Actually I consider both of them to be pretty lousy and avoid them like the plague. It's just two different approaches to the same data-mining robbery.
